Production Music

Production music is music which is usually composed specifically for use in film, television, radio and multimedia. Whereas royalty free music is usually purchased "off the shelf", it is more common for production music to be specifically commissioned. Of course, with all these terms there is a great deal of overlap and there are production music libraries that commission composers on a work for hire basis and own all the rights to the music. This music can then be licensed without seeking permission from the composer , making licensing more simple.

At SMARTassMusic we have "in house" composition and production as well as music written by "outside" composers included in our royalty free music library.
If you can't find an "off the shelf" solution then we can produce music for you with a quick turnaround and the same high quality. You can also have the option of allowing us to include the music in our downloads collection, making it extremely cost effective when compared to an exclusive agreement.
