In case you didn’t realise – we posted our first “Free Audio Pack“  at various software download sites at the end of 2008.
This pack contains 8 completely free loops and stings in high quality WAV files.
These free music loops are simple to download and import into any multimedia production and are completely free for use in non-profit productions. The pack also contains information, links and license terms.
We’ve now made this pack available for download directly from the SMARTassMusic website on our updated “free royalty free music” page. From here you can access members only free music or download our free audio packs without the need to register.

We’ll soon be releasing our second Free royalty free music audio pack which should contain 12 high quality loops and stings. We’ll update you first from the blog, so watch this space

If you create your own podcasts then you will certainly need great music to accompany your fabulous new show.
There’s actually a great choice of music available on the Internet for podcasters but there’s two vital things to watch out for: is it legal? and is it good quality?

To be sure that your podcast music is “podsafe” or legal, you really need to buy music from a royalty free music library or independent musician who specifically gives you the rights to use his or her music.
The SMARTassMusic standard license gives you the right to use our music as much as you like in your podcasts and many other projects too!
And did I mention….there’s free tracks too and yes, you’re welcome to use these in your podcasts absolutely free.

The other important point is that of quality. Our music is crystal clear audio quality and available for instant download as both WAV and high quality MP3 files (192kbps).
You shouldn’t sacrifice quality for bandwidth when producing your podcasts and any audio compression less than 128kbps containing music, is going to be noticably poor.

Hi, just a quick update to let you know that we’ve resolved an error on the free music downloads page which meant that you received an error 404 when you tried to access the WAVs and MP3s.
Apologies for the error but it’s all working now. If you log in, you can access all our free tracks and now that we know it’s all running smoothly, we’ll be adding lots more
